OpenRail Overhead Line Designer Help

Technological Data Editor

Ribbon: Home > Project > Technological Data

Technological data are default values for the planning and are saved at the project level. Defaults for new projects are located at the root- and the customer level. In the technological data all parameters like dimensions, material and their constants, environmental conditions, etc. are allocated to the catenary types and the feeder line design types. These values are used during the layout design to execute the calculations for the design of the overhead contact system.

You can edit the technological data in the technological data editor. In addition the suitable buttons, as for example material constant, can be selected.

Enter the data in the dialogue window or in the table. The exact procedure for the entry of a catenary and a feeder line type is described in the following paragraphs. Each type of catenary refers to the preceding input masks. For each new defined type, references to all other tables must be clear. The type of catenary cannot be created if such references are missing. The logical order of the input is therefore from left to right.

The fields in the process data editor and the data are linked with each other. Each field represents one table.

The connection lines in the figure above clarify the relations between the single tables. The whole catenary and feeder line design types can be assembled by several tables.

You can use the dialog windows of the technological data editor to edit the data in the tables.

After you have chosen a field in the technological data editor, a dialog window appears. You can choose whether to enter new data, edit or delete already existing data, or have a look at the list via the List button.

Select New to enter new data. Open the dialog box with Edit to change existing data. For more details on this procedure and an example, refer to the topic Change an existing catenary type.

In the following explanations only the creation of new data sets is covered up.
